Facebook shines on Google Chrome

Web developers and website owners all over the world are up making sure that their applications are compatible with Google Chrome. In my Hands On Test Drive, I reported that some of the websites and features were not fully functional due to the fact that Chrome caught the world by surprise. Well in their latest update today, Facebook has resolved most of the issues on Chrome, thanks to the people who work through the night just to make the web a better place.

Microsoft to can Age of Empires maker

Gamespot.com revealed today that Microsoft plans to shutdown its Ensemble Studios. Speculations were raised after Microsoft had fired much of the staff at Ensemble; which is currently developing Halo Wars. Gaming news sites Gamasutra , and Shacknews reported that those directly involved in the much anticipated Real-Time Strategy, would be the only ones left after today. Read the rest of this entry »

New Projects at Gmail Labs

Gmail Labs unveiled three new projects today, on the official Gmail Blog. Gmail Labs has been around for some time now, giving previews of upcoming features to Gmail, be they mouse controlled gestures or a good ol’ fashioned game of Snake.

The new features released are designed to enhance the functionality of mail labels. For example you can now rearrange the order of your left hand pane to your liking. Everything below the folder view is interchangeable giving you options to customize your mailbox view. Facebook may be making over $100 Million virtually this year

Tell me who hasn’t heard about Facebook yet? Sure there may be some poor souls who still haven’t joined it yet, but virtually every single entity (bot or human) on the Internet has heard about it at least once. Facebook was founded in February 2004, as a closed registration website. It opened its membership to the world in September 2006, challenging the likes of Google’s Orkut and MySpace. new iPods + iTunes 8 download

Today, at their Lets Rock event, Apple unveiled their latest lineup of iPods. The news wasn’t totally unexpected as images of the 4th Generation iPod Nano had already been leaked on the Internet. Wild Pockets: Create your own 3D Games Online for Free

At the DEMOfall 08 conference today, Sim Ops Studios debuted a free tool for creating 3-D games online in a web browser, called Wild Pockets. It gives a casual users, the tools needed to build rich and interesting games online, and share them with family and friends.

The web based game creation tool allows you to create a game by dragging and dropping objects into a 3-D world editor. There is a large library of objects and environments to choose from, including some basic primitives to particle systems. There is also an option to import images in the editor from your computer or the web.
