Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 Test drive

I was reading about the new features of Internet Explorer 8 on Sizlopedia and decided to give it a test drive myself. I haven’t really used IE since the days of Windows 2000, when version 5.5 came out, so it took a while to get used to the new interface even though it debuted in IE 7. And since I am not accustomed to this browser, I will not debate on its features and improvements, nor I will compare it with Firefox or Apple Safari right now as it is at an early stage. Instead the main focus of this article would be the web surfing experience I got from this browser. I tested it on some of the most commonly visited websites and documented my experience on them. GamersX (PK) Shutting Down Permanently?

Today a shocking news was revealed on GamersX (PK). Their primary game server, cs.gamersx.net, would permanently be shutting down due to some unexplained technical reasons. While this news has put up a big question mark on the future of online gaming in Pakistan, it also provides a good opportunity for other hosts to catch up with the competition.

Hosted in Lahore, GamersX (PK) was one of the busiest Counter-Strike 1.6 servers in Pakistan, with almost 8000 registered nicks. Though it was the home ground of the GamersX clan, it provided equal opportunity for every to every member to prove them selves and even become moderators on their servers. The server ran AMXX 1.8 and HL Guard 1.8 providing maximum hack protection with minimal trojan and virus threats.

From my sources inside GamersX, I have confirmed the reason for shutting down this server. Apparently, this was because the server management costs were increasing every day, and since it didn’t have any revenue stream nor was it backed by any corporation, the owners decided to shut down the server. No official word has been given on whether the server would resume its services in the foreseeable future.

I will keep the updates coming as I get more information on the matter. Feel free to share your thoughts below, and share any other good servers you play on.
